Alan Barnett

Mr. Barnett has over 25 years of experience leveraging technology to improve sales, margins, inventory turns, cash flow and business processes for retailers and wholesalers. This experience includes restructuring and turnaround situations that have led to dramatic improvements in areas such as merchandise and assortment planning, allocation and replenishment, production planning, and reporting.

Mr. Barnett has held senior executive positions in IT and merchandising with Steve and Barry’s, Levitz Furniture, Loehmann’s, Victoria’s Secret Stores, and Barney’s New York.

Mr. Barnett is also a frequent featured speaker at industry conferences and boards including the Technology and Operations Store Summit (TOPSS), the Retail Connections Summit, the Merchandise Innovation and Excellence Conference, and the Consortium for Operational Excellence in Retail Conference at The Wharton and Harvard Business Schools. Mr. Barnett has also been a member of The TOPSS Advisory Board since 2005 and is a former member of the RIS News Editorial Advisory Board.

Mr. Barnett received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, where he had a Marketing Fellowship, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
